Dhanush has planned his next biggie, OM, after Kara disappointment to land well at the box office. Mammootty is playing a prominent role in the film while Sai Abhyankkar's first single, Alaka Lova, has become a huge chartbuster. The hype for the film has been huge but the makers had to postpone from 16th October date. 

Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 has been confirmed to release on 15th October and makers have started aggressive promotions, confirming that they are not moving away from the date. Dhanush confirmed that OM will be releasing later to avoid clash with Rajini and also confirmed that he won't clash with Suriya's Scene for Diwali. 

He did made a sidenote that first preference should be given those who have locked the release date before by avoiding Diwali clash and pointing that they have confirmed OM date before Jailer 2. Anyways, as things stand now, Dhanush is looking at Decemeber first week or Christmas weekend release, say rumour mills. 

Sources state that while he is inclined to accept OTT rules and release the movie with their deadlines, he is not interested to risk investment as it is too high budget. Also, Amaran director Rajkumar Periyasamy, is directing it as his next and hence, both don't want it to miss at the box office. 

So, sources suggest that he is eyeing Christmas release and it would also give ample time to the director to fine tune everything as per plans. Sai Pallavi is cast in then film and some reports suggest that while Dhanush did try to blame on hand twisting tactics, he did not want to release his film against Ramayana which also has Pallavi in leading role.
