Tamil Parties may boycott Modi’s oath taking ceremony

Troubles brew for Narendra Modi’s oath taking ceremony. BJP has invited around 300 eminent people around the world to grace Narendra Modi’s oath taking ceremony to be held at Rashtrapathi Bhavan on May 26th. Sri Lankan President Mahindra Raja Paksa is also one among them. All the political parties including ruling AIADMAK in Tamilnadu are strongly opposing BJP’s decision of inviting him. Generally Tamil people in the state hate him very much and consider him as their enemy because he is the one, who wiped off the LTTE from his country. During the military action, thousands of innocent Tamil people including women and children were mercilessly killed.

DMK has withdrawn its support to Manmohan Singh government in the last last year over Sri Lankan Tamil's issue. Even the European community is fuming on him for human rights violation. So, it is natural that any political party in Tamilnadu will definitely oppose Sri Lankan President by tooth and nail following the peoples’ feelings. So, this time also all the political parties have asked the BJP to drop the idea of inviting him, or else they may abstain to his oath taking ceremony.

However, BJP may not revoke its decision at this moment as it has already sent invitations to all including Sri Lankan President Raja Paksa. So, obviously there may be no representation from Tamilnadu in Modi’s oath taking ceremony.
