Tollywood actress Swetha Basu Prasad admits that she is indulged in prostitution, but only to support her family back at home. She told the police that she enters this brothel business after her situation worsens as she couldn’t bag any film offers. She said there are many small time actresses indulged in this brothel business for the same reasons. Swetha Basu has been sent to rehabilitation center in Hyderabad and will be kept there for three months.
She seems to be revealed only half-truth to justify her mischief. Of course, she may not able to get any film chances these days, but it doesn’t mean that she has to become prostitute to feed her family. She can find some alternative profession using her popularity among the people. But, she seems chosen this brothel business only to earn easy money. Normally, once anyone habituated to luxurious life style, it is very difficult to live out of it. That’s why many youth are seen indulged in chain snatching and bikes thefts. Perhaps, Swetha Basu is no exception to this, but she chooses what she believed easy for her.
