The Supreme Court bench consisting of Justice K S Radhakrishnan and J S Khehar,have pronounced an order that the Sahara Chief Subrata Roy should pay a sum of RS 10,000 Crore for a conditional Bail. This could probably be the highest bail amount paid by anyone in the country till date.
This amount has to be deposited with SEBI and he can pay RS 5,ooo crore in cash and furnish the rest as a bank guarantee. Now this proposal has been accepted by him and he has promised to pay a sum of RS 2500 crore as cash deposit and the rest of the amount in installments. We could say that this is a brilliant way to make the Sahara Chief cough up at least part of the Rs 20,000 crore due to SEBI .
