Sridevi’s struggle with Hindi

Sridevi character in her comeback film English Vinglish is quite close to the struggle the actress faced in her real life while working on Hindi films in Bollywood.  The south Indian actress had her bit of struggle with her Hindi when she stepped into Bollywood. Where on one side knowing and being fluent with Tamil made her dominance in South Indian cinema rather easy, her journey in Bollywood has had a lot of frictions because her command over Hindi was weak. Since she was not comfortable with Hindi, she always had a teacher by her side when shot her scenes.   Sridevi had lyricist Kausar Munir as her a full time language supervisor. Munir has worked on films like Ishaqzaade and Ek Tha Tiger and is director Gauri’s friend and took up the assignment to assist her.
