S.P.Tyagi admits of meeting Agusta handlers

Former IAF chief S.P.Tyagi couldn’t deny of his meeting with officers of Agusta Westland. This admission has come from Tyagi after a nine hour long grilling by the CBI officials yesterday. Tyagi is said to have met these officials in 2005, just a month after his tenure as IAF chief. The scam of Agusta Westland has cropped up again after an Italian court mentioned the name of Tyagi in its recent verdict.

Tyagi is alleged to have changed the rules of altitude and ceiling of the helicopter requirements  to facilitate the deal in favour of Agusta Westland. More than 300 crores were said to have been bribed before the deal was cancelled. Yesterday, Tyagi had also admitted about the companies he owned along with his wife. Officials suspect that these companies might have been set up to legalise the bribes received by Mr.Tyagi.
