Is Sonia Gandhi quitting?

There were reports in a section of media that Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi have offered to quit their posts owing moral responsibility for the party defeat in the elections. The buzz is that they both offered to quit in the CWC meeting held on Saturday.

However, party General Secretary Shakeel Ahmed rubbished the reports and said I do not want to speculate on speculative news but if something happens like your hypothetical question is concerned, in my opinion, it will be out rightly rejected by all of us."

However, Sonia Gandhi may vacate her chair for her darling son Rahul Gandhi, who is badly humiliated with party defeat. However, sooner or later she may quit her post on health grounds. Since, there is no chance for him to become Prime Minister of the country in the near future, she may promote him to party president post. This is only option left for her to pacify her poor son Rahul Gandhi.
