12 people killed, 15 injured in road accident in Prakasham

Twelve people were killed and 15 injured in a road accident that takes place near Cherlopalem of Kandukuru Mandal in Prakasham district on Saturday early morning. A group of 40 people were travelling in a DCM vehicle from Chevooru to Malakonda to attend a wedding function. Their vehicle rammed into a private bus coming from opposite direction and both vehicles fall into a road side canal. While the DCM vehicle overturned the bus catches fire.

The bus belongs to Sri Krishna Travels. Fortunately there are no passengers in the bus otherwise more lives would have lost in this accident. Police and local officials rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to local hospitals. According to preliminary reports the reason for the accident is over speeding of DCM vehicle. The death toll may further rise because many of the injured condition is reported to be very critical. Fire servicemen also rushed to the spot and extinguished the flames but the bus almost turned to ashes buy then.
