KA Paul Gets Bail

Maverick evangelist K A Paul, who was arrested four months ago in connection with his alleged role in the murder of his brother David Raj two years ago, is finally out on bail.

The high court on Tuesday granted him bail on submission of security for Rs 1 lakh and surrendering of his passport. Paul was arrested on May 12, after a sting operation conducted by Ongole police in which he had offered Rs 5 crore bribe to the SI to eliminate the witness in his brother’s murder case.

Subsequently, Paul made every attempt to come out first in the name of chest pain. He was admitted to Gandhi Hospital, Secunderabad last month and he refused to get discharged though doctors declared him completely fit. The Ongole police had to raid the hospital and forcibly shift him to the jail again. He had even alleged that the police were trying to send him to mental hospital. Finally, Paul managed to get the bail on Tuesday.
