T issue inspires Gorkha land demand

The positive signs by the Congress high command on Telangana issue are making the Telangana people feel very happy and excited. At the same time it also excites some others like pro-Ghorka land and pro-Vidarbha separate state activists. While, Vidarbha region activists prefers to wait until Telangana declaration, Ghorka land activists couldn’t stop themselves from landing at New Delhi to remind the UPA government about their longstanding demand of separate state. They argue that, while the Telangana agitation is just 6 decades old, their agitation way backs to a century and hence their demand is to be justified.

Ghorka Jana Mukti Morcha (GJM) general secretary Rosahngiri accompanied by his team has met the RK Singh, secretary of home ministry and handovers a memorandum to him asking to carve Ghurkha land state.

Although, Congress foresees these developments, it is worried to see them react so swiftly within a couple of days of Chako’s favorable statement on Telangana. Certainly, it creates an unseen pressure on the Congress high command, which is exercising on the Telangana issue.
