T Congress MPs arrested at CM Office

The Telangana Congress leaders appear to be heading for a confrontation with the Kiran Kumar Reddy government over the Telangana statehood issue, as was evident from the arrest of party MPs from the region at the CM’s camp office on Sunday.

The Telangana Congress MPs went to the CM office to complain about the highhanded behaviour of the police in obstructing the Telangana March. They were planning to prevail upon the Chief Minister to see that those who had been arrested while coming to Hyderabad to participate in the rally be released immediately. They said it was not proper on the part of the government to impose restrictions after giving permission to the rally.

However, Kiran Kumar Reddy refused to see the Telangana MPs though they had given him prior intimation. Having no other option, the MPs stated a dharna in front of the camp office and the police were compelled to arrest them. “How can the CM order arrest of his own party MPs? Is he so busy to deny audience to the MPs?” they asked.

Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy also called up the Chief Minister and registered his protest over the arrests in Telangana. He said it was time for the Telangana leaders to quit their posts for Telangana.
