Air India Offloads 75-Yr-Old Wheelchair User

A 75-year-old woman on a wheelchair was offloaded from an Air India flight from New Delhi to New York after being told the flight was overbooked. She was scheduled to travel to New York for her grandson's first birthday. Daughter of the woman tweeted for help:

"Air India has ofloadsd my 70y mother from her US flight becoz of overbooking. She is wheelchairbound and scared. Please help! @airindiain"

She was finally given a transit flight via Heathrow at 2:45 in the morning after an hour of commotion.
