Situation in both states is peaceful: Governor

Governor Narasimhan’s two-day visit to New Delhi and his meetings with Home Minister and others is raising curiosity in the people of both states. Speaking to the media at New Delhi, he said that the situation in both states is quite normal and peaceful. There is no significance to his visit and it is a routine one. He said that he is very hopeful about finding an amicable solution of 1256 employees of electricity department, who were relieved by the Telangana Genco and Discoms recently.

This brief mention by him on this issue is revealing that it was the reason behind his visit to New Delhi. The 1256 employees’ future is hanging in the air as both AP and the Telangana governments are not willing to employ them. Both governments have their own reasons and arguments in their case. The employees have approached the high court and got a stay order on the GO issued by the Telangana state government, but it doesn’t serve their purpose. Stalemate on their employment is still continuing. Hence, the Governor may report this sensitive issue and seeking Centre’s interference in this matter. There may be many other issues, but this may be in top of that list.
