  • Shashi Tharoor charged with wive`s murder

      The prestigious parliamentarian Shashi Tharoor was charged for abetting the suicide of his wife Sunanda Pushkar. Sunanda was found dead in a five star hotel at Delhi. There were rumours that she had a violent struggle with her husband before her death. Initial reports stated that the cause of her death in unnatural. However, after four years of her death... a Special Investigation Team has submitted a report to Patiala House Court terming the incident to be a suicide and Shashi being the culprit for forcing her to such act.

    Highest voting in Karnataka in 60 years

      Karnataka has recorded a 72.13% turn out of voters in the present assembly polls. This is said to be a record turnout since 1957 assembly elections. As many as 24 of the 30 districts in the state recorded more than 70% polling. The heavy campaign by top BJP and congress leaders seem to be a major cause for the turnout. However some fear that the increased distribution of money among voters could be another reason for the high percentile of voting.

    Bharata Ratna for Veer Savarkar!

      Well. Now this is just a demand from the Shiv Sena. But it soon could turn out the demand for all the hindutwa groups. The party MP Sanjay Raut in his article in Saamana has severely criticised the central government for not giving enough respect for Savarkar and demanded a Bharat Ratna for him. Savarkar is known for extreme hindutwa ideas during the times of Independence. He was also sometimes considered to be the guru of Godse who killed Gandhi. However, pro hindutwa groups such as RSS, VHP and Shiv Sena consider him to be one of the torch bearer of Hindu glory.

    Digital currency from Facebook

      Facebook seem to be trying innovative ideas to gain back its reputation after the data breach scandal. After the announcement of dating services from Facebook, here is yet another initiative. According to the tech website Cheddar, Facebook is thinking of launching digital currency. Facebook has more than two billion users which is more than good enough to introduce a new business. By using this crypto currency, the users of FB could in future make and receive payments. 

    40 killed in sand storm

      Sand storms could be a new phenomenon for India. But we probably should be getting ready for them. At least 40 people were killed yesterday when and storms and thunderbolts chocked the nation. In UP alone, 18 people were killed while nine people were dead in the Telugu states. More than 180 flights were cancelled at the Indira Gandhi airport due to storm factor. The crops in Andhra and Telangana were said to be severely affected by the storm and the rains that followed it.

    Examiner kept staring at my chest

      It was a shocking incident from Kerala. A student who was appearing for NEET exam has been ill treated by none other than the examiner himself. Her ordeal started when she was asked to take her inner wear away to pass through the metal detector. She then gathered her courage back to proceed for the exam. But this time it was the examiner himself that proved to be a villain. "a male observer from CBSE came for checking. Initially, I didn't notice him, but he came and stood right in front of me at least 3 or 4 times. This made me really comfortable as they had already asked me to remove the inner. We didn't have the permission to use shawl or dupatta. He kept staring at my chest repeatedly and I had to hide my body with the question paper," the NEET aspirant complained to the police.

    Killers hired for my murder – Mamata Banerjee

      West Bengal Chief Minister has made shocking comments about her safety. She alleged that `some` political parties has hired people to kill her. Mamata is sure that the killers have made all preperations to kill her. However she asserted that a will has been made by her mentioning her successor as well her directions to rule the party in her absence. Mamata in recent times is maintaining equal distance with BJP as well as Congress. She has been working out with politicians like KCR to form a third front.

    Abolish Income Tax - Subramanian Swamy

      Firebrand politician Subramanian Swamy has given a stunning statement. He called for abolition of Income Tax. “Who is paying (income tax) in India? a very small fraction. So, why should you impose this burden on this small fraction,” Mr. Swamy asked. He advocated that abolishing income tax would lead to increase in savings... which leads to growth in investment and indirect taxes. This is certainly an interesting suggestion from Swamy. But who could dare to implement it?

    DENA bank in severe crisis

    The banking sector in the country may be facing harsh circumstances. They have ofcourse no one else than themselves to blame for the situation. Hitting another nail on their coffins... here is a fresh problem. Dena bank which is one of the key player in nationalised banks is in severe financial crisis. As the bank is unable to resolve the crisis, RBI has imposed a ban on fresh loans as well as hiring by th bank. The gross non-performing assets of the bank, was 22.4% of gross advances by the end of this march.

    Modi is the incarnation of lord Ram

      Don’t be surprised to find these kind of statement from bhakts. BJP MLA Surendra Singh of Bairia (UP) has declared that Modi is none other than Lord Ram. And that’s not the end of his muse. Surendra Singh felt that Amit Shah is none other than Laxman and Adityanath is Hanuman. Referring to Adityanath, he said, "And see the coincidence that as Brahmachari Hanuman, Yogiji has also come." And if you are wondering the purpose of these incarnations, Surendra Singh has an answer for it-  "This team of Ram, Laxman and Hanuman will realise the dream of Ram Rajya," he told reporters.

    Boat with 80 people catches fire at Papikonda

    Almost every person in Telugu speaking states would be aware of Papikondalu travel. Huge number of people would arrive at Rajahmundry to take boat tours to the scenic Papi Hills. However at least 80 passengers had a brush of death when a boat in which they were travelling in caught fire. Fortunately the boat was closer to the banks and the gave the travellers a chance to jump down the boat to safety. The double-decker boat belonged to Royal Godavari tours. The cause of fire is said to be a short circuit.

    Tripura CM in controversy again

      Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb seem to have taken the responsibility of feeding the journalists. He has been making several comments that have the potential to appear in the headlines such as... internet existed during Mahabharata era, Diana Hayden is unfit to win miss world crown, civil engineers should get into civil services blah blah blah... now here is latest statement. Speaking on the birth anniversary of Tagore- Deb said, "Rabindranath Tagore returned his Nobel Prize in protest against the British." Now we know that it’s not true. People of India could only pray to god that Biplab should think twice before he makes a statement.

    Woman killed for giving chocolates

      It`s always disheartening to see how our gestures of goodwill could sometimes be misread. A woman has come to Tamilnadu along with two relatives from Malaysia. Reason! She wanted to visit her family deity in the village. When she saw two children playing around the temple, she offered them some chocolates. Some people mistook this gesture as a trap to kidnap the children. Soon an alarm was spread and she was beaten to death. Both her relatives and driver were seriously injured.

    Women receives fake jewellery from ICICI

      ICICI has given yet another shocker to its customers. After the Videocon scam in which the bank CEO Chanda Kochhar`s husband was involved.. it’s time for another fraud. Mansi Singh, a resident of South Delhi has taken a loan of Rs 14 lakh against original jewellery of over Rs 40 lakh from ICICI. However when she repaid the loan to the bank, what she got back is interesting. Mansi has received some jewellery that were not deposited by her. What’s more! She instead received fake jewellery. When the bank officials kept mum over the incident, the victim was left with no other option except to report at the police.

    Tajmahal is in danger- Supreme Court

      The Supreme Court which is reviewing the situation of Taj Mahal has made severe comments against its conservation. It has reprimanded the role of Archeological Survey of India which is unable to save the monument from deterioration. “You all appear to be helpless. Money should not be the consideration. We might order you to hire experts from within India or abroad. We need to save it,” the bench advised the government of Uttar Pradesh. It has also made clear that ``the Archaeological Survey of India will have to be thrown out of the picture if the Taj Mahal has to be saved’’.

    One lakh crore profit to Flipkart

    Imagine a company that was started with 4 lakhs has grabbed a deal of one lakh crore rupees. Astounding, but true! Indian retail giant Flipkart has received an amount of one lakh crore in return to 77% of it’s stake. The global capitalist Walmart has paid the said amount to set its foot in India. Though the stake is high, Walmart has paid such huge amount to compete with Amazon which is another player in Indian retail market. Flipkart which was started in 2011 on a humble mode is now the biggest online website in India.

    Paid with wedding ring to kill husband

      It’s the height of deception. A newly married women from Vizianagaram district has set two B.Tech graduates to kill her husband. Reason! She wanted to get rid of him for the sake of her lover. The murderers has attacked Gowrishankar (victim) at a secluded spot, where Saraswati (culprit) asked him to stop on some pretext, police said. Later Saraswati went to the station and complained that some unidentified men has killed her husband in the process of robbing them. However when the police arrested three suspicious men at the checkpost, they turned out to be the offenders who has murdered Gowrishankar at the behest of Saraswati.

    Fraud in the name of NASA

      People who has fraudulent motives can be very creative. Meet this father and son- Virender Mohan Brar (56) and Nitin Mohan Brar (30) who duped people with various facets. Magic mirrors, two headed snakes, snakes with medicinal properties... and what not. And when they ran out of their ideas, they chose a wildest way to cheat people. They claimed to the innocent people that they are working on a `rice-puller` that can generate electricity from thunderbolts which is going to be sold to NASA through DRDO. And yes! There are people who believed these claims and gave 1.43 crore rupees as investment. Of coure the culprits are now in police custody.

    Mallya looses his assets in England

      The king of good times Mr. Mallya has suffered a severe setback yesterday. The UK court has granted permission for sale of his assets to recover the debts made by him. This would allow the consortium of 13 Indian banks to recover 1.5 billion dollars defaulted by the liquor baron. The judgement is seen as a moral boost for both the banking sector as well as the Indian government which were defamed by the escape of Mallya.
