The Congress and the TD will announce the names of their respective candidates for the Kadapa and Pulivendula by-polls today. Congress sources said that during a meeting at the CM’s camp office on Tuesday night, it was finalised that the agriculture minister, Mr Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy, would run against his sister-in-law, Ms Vijayalakshmi, from the Pulivendula Assembly segment.

They added that though former MLA from Proddutur, Mr N. Varadarajulu Reddy, was shortlisted to run for the Kadapa LS segment, his name would be cleared after a meeting convened today.

The Congress state leadership has kept the TD and Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy camps guessing on its candidate for the Kadapa Lok Sabha bypoll.
