The special CBI court on Friday reserved its orders on a petition of V Vijay Sai Reddy, the key accused in Kadapa MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s alleged illegal assets, for using laptop in prison, to January 23. The magistrate B Naga Maruthi Sharma reserved the orders after hearing arguments from both the counsels on Friday.
B Ravindranath, deputy legal advisor, CBI, in his arguments said that if the court granted permission to Vijay Sai Reddy to use laptop in the prison, he may tamper with the evidence and may influence the witnesses in connection with Jagan’s illegal assets case. “When the accused is a reputed financial advisor and he needs to coordinate with his clients, he can do his work using hard copies from the jail,’’ the CBI counsel said.
