Usain Bolt is a name that will be etched in the history for he is the finest track and field athlete ever seen. Bolt, 29, won his third gold medal of Rio 2016 - and his ninth overall - as he anchored the Jamaican 4x100m relay team to victory. He turned a close 4x100 relay race against Japan and the United States, helping Jamaica cross the line in 37.27. Japan won the silver medal, finishing .33 seconds behind. It means the man who will turn 30 on Sunday has completed an unprecedented 'triple-triple' by winning the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay titles at three consecutive Olympic Games.
There you go, I'm the greatest," Bolt told reporters afterwards. "I'm going to stay up late and have fun. I never knew this would happen when I started out." He added, “I am just relieved”. “It’s happened. I am just happy, proud of myself. It's come true. The pressure is real. I look at it as an accomplishment.” he said. He had earlier already said he would be “immortal” if he pulled it off. After crossing the line, “Lightning” Bolt went on a slow victory lap of the Olympic stadium, enjoying what he has said will be his last ever race at an Olympic Games.
