Its official poll-related seized cash is 83 Crore

AP Chief electoral officer Bhanwar Lal today has declared that there has been a seizure of Rupees 83 Crore in cash, which has not been claimed and remains unaccounted for as part of the checking done throughout Andhra Pradesh. As part of the run-up to the general elections and with the enforcement of the Election Code of Conduct the Police have been conducting extensive searches at all check posts and borders in AP.
Apart from cash, Gold, Silver, Gas cylinders, sarees, TV sets, fake ornaments, cheap liquor and in certain places where cricket gear with the names and photos of the probable contestants were also seized With over one lakh policemen on duty, aided by over 450 companies of paramilitary forces, all border districts have been sealed and highways are being patrolled for ensuring that the elections are conducted peacefully.
