Both Telangana Rashtra Samithi and Telangana Joint Action Committee have different opinions over supporting the rebel Telugu Desam MLA, Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy's proposed campaign for separate Telangana and public meeting to be held at Nagarkurnool on May 9. The TRS has refused to align with Dr Reddy, but the TJAC has extended its support to his campaign.
TJAC convenor Prof. Kodandaram welcomed Dr. Janardhan Reddy's decision to take up the Telangana cause, but asked him to do more to instil confidence in Telangana people and to prove his sincerity. Replying to the question whether TJAC would participate in the meeting, Kodandaram said "We will discuss the issue with committee members and take appropriate decision over participation. But one should understand that Nagam has defied the party diktat to hold the meeting. We need to appreciate that." He also asked Dr. Reddy to quit his party, if he is to have credibility on the T-issue as TDP has not clarified its stand so far.
