The members of Parliament from Telangana region met twice on Wednesday at the residences of the Rajya Sabha member Dr K. Kesava Rao and the Bhongir Lok Sabha MP Mr Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy. The meetings were held to discuss about Telangana agitation and it was decided to serve the centre with an ultimatum.
The Congress MPs from Telangana set a deadline of 30 June for the centre to take a favourable decision on the statehood issue failing which they would take steps like fasts unto death, quitting the party and Parliament memberships. It was also decided to conduct a Telangana Congress leaders' meeting on June 5 with all MLAs, ministers and MPs of the region and to go to New Delhi from June 6 to 10 to present their case to Union ministers and central Congress party leaders.
