Congress Leaders From Telangana Meet PM

A delegation of Congress leaders from the Telangana region met the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh today at Delhi. The leaders met the prime minister and requested him to expedite the process to carve out the separate state as announced by Mr. Chidambaram on 9 Dec'10. The leaders also asked for removal of para 14 from the Presidential orders and to facilitate removal of hurdles in the recruitment of SIs' of Police in the region. They also appraised the Prime Minister with the probable problems that would crop up due to inordinate delay taking place in formation of the separate state.
The delegation is comprising of nearly 25 people including 10 MPs, 3 ex-ministers Jupally Krishna Rao, Allani Vinod Kumar and Fariduddin, 3 MLCs, Rajya sabha members V Hanumantha Rao and K Keshava Rao, state ministers Geetha Reddy, Saraiah and several others. Speaking to media after the meeting, Mr. Keshava Rao told that the Prime Minister listened to them patiently and responded very positively. He assured that the government is thinking of all possible ways to speed up the process to settle the issue.
