Police blocked traffic on the Greams Road from Anna Salai to College Road and diverted vehicles via other routes. Some offices in the area have reportedly allowed employees to work from home in anticipation of road blocks. CM Jayalalithaa’s health condition has been the subject of discussion for a long time now. Opposition party – DMK chief M Karunanidhi had earlier written a letter asking Jayalalithaa to reveal information on her health condition. Most people in the city were caught unaware due to lack of information about the CM's hospitalisation. It was reported that many patients had to be wheeled in to the area as the roads were blocked by officials.
