Jayashankar Dead - Jayashankar Dies: Telangana Rashtra Samithi policy-maker Professor Kothapalli Jayashankar died today in Warangal after battling for life due to cancer. He was 77 year old and was hospitalized since a month now.

Professor Jayashanakar was born in Hanmakonda on 6 August 1934. He did his M.A. Economics (Banaras), M.A. Economics (Aligarh) and Ph.D. in Economics (Osmania University) and B.Ed. from Osmania university. He is the present policy maker of the TRS party. He is also the former Vice Chancellor of Kakatiya University and an active participant in the Separate Telangana Movement. He is the founder member of Telangana Aikya Vedika (TJAC) and is on its Executive Committee.

As a young student of intermediate K Jayashankar walked out of his class in protest for state reorganization in 1952. Then, in 1962, he was part of a campaign which rocked the region. As a lecturer, in 1968, he participated in the revived agitation. He carried out his struggle for Telangana through research and academic studies, and by educating people on the cause. Prof. Jayashankar's death is an irreparable loss to the ongoing Telangana movement. Not only Telangana, but people all over the state were shocked to hear that prof. Jayashankar is no more. People including TRS and leaders from all political parties have expressed their grief over death of prof. Jayashankar.
