PM meets athletes going for Rio Olympics

With 32 days left before the Olympics, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the Rio-bound athletes at Manekshaw Centre in Delhi to boost their confidence. One of the greatest sportsperson of our times, Abhinav Bindra tweeted about this saying,''For the first time ever there is a send off by the @PMOIndia@narendramodi for the Olympic Team . What a great gesture ,#respect''.
With 102 athletes already on the list and more names likely to be added, this will be the biggest Indian Olympic contingent in history to represent at the Summer Games. In London, the number was 83 which was the previous highest. Though this was said to be an informal meeting with the athletes there were other dignitaries also who attended it along with the Prime Minister, they were Sports Minister Jitendra Singh, Sports Secretary Rajiv Yadav, Indian Olympic Association President N Ramachandran, Hockey India President Narinder Batra among others.
