Students of Osmania University took out a peace rally under the aegis of ABVP today from Arts College to the OU Administrative Building. The peace rally was held because of the 'Beef Festival' clashes that took place in the campus on Sunday between two groups of students.

The rallying students blamed the Vice Chancellor of the university for Sunday clashes. They gheraoed VC's office and expressed their protest by raising slogans. They demanded for stern action against the professors who participated in the beef festival. The VC assured the students that old menu will be followed in the campus hostels and also told that the people responsible for the clashes will be arrested within 24 hours.

It is to be recalled that on Sunday the Osmania campus virtually turned into a battle-ground on account of the beef festival. While five students were injured, another student who favoured beef festival was stabbed, say the reports. The protestors also set fire to vehicles belonging to media persons. According to reports, still tension prevails in the OU campus.
