Visitors New Zealand pipped India by six runs in a thrilling second ODI encounter in New Delhi on Thursday, levelling the five-match series 1-1 and in the process also won their first game of the tour. It is also after 11 long years that India have lost an ODI at the Feroz Shah Kotla. Hardik Pandya (36) and Umesh Yadav (18) tried their best with a 49-run stand for the ninth wicket but Pandya's dismissal in the penultimate over ended India's hopes. With this loss India claimed the unwanted record of being the first team to lose 400 ODI matches. The fact that they have played more matches than anyone else will come as scant consolation as they have another unwanted record to their name. Courtesy of their first ODI against New Zealand, India became the first country to play in 900 ODIs. On the day that they made ODI history, they also managed to come out on top as they registered their 455thvictory and inched closer to second place on the list of all-time ODI wins.
