The consequent developments takes place after Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi was made as party campaigning president in its national executives meeting held at Goa recently, has virtually brings BJP to its knees.
Advani quits all his posts in the party protesting Modi’s elevation in the party. Then, JD (U) snapped its two decade long relation with BJP led NDA. Congress grabs the chance and extends its support to JD (U) during confidence motion in Bihar Assembly. This may blossom a new friendship between the two parties.
The timing of these developments alerts BJP top brass as well as its mentor RSS. BJP some how has managed to convince Advani withdraw his resignation letter. RSS Chief Mohan Baghawath also met Advani at his home in New Delhi yesterday and had a one and half hour long discussions with him. He asked Advani to refrain from going to media over the internal issues. He asked Advani to align with the party and work for its victory in the forthcoming elections, instead of handing over the opportunity to Congress in the forthcoming elections.
He brushed out Advani’s fears about Modi’s elevation and said the decision can be retrieved now. He also turned down his appeals of removing of RSS joint secretary Suresh Soni and BJP general secretary Ram Lal. Bhagawath’s briefing to Advani’s indicates that RSS disagree with Advani’s stand regarding Modi’s elevation.
This cab be considered as a polite message to Advani from RSS asking him to fall in line with party or else he can retire from the party.
