The investigating agency, CBI also filed its counter on the bail plea of Mopidevi in the special court at nampally.
The CBI in its counter affidavit stated that the minister had mis-informed the Cabinet about the Vanpic project. He also facilitated the project owners to skip away from transferring the acquired lands and port constructions to the government after their agreement with Ras-al-Khaima comes to an end. The CBI contended that the afgreement which ought to have been a BOT (Build, Operate and Transfer) originally, has been converted in to BOO (Build, Operate and Own) by the then minister Mopidevi. The CBI also expressed its apprehensions that if given bail, the minister may influence the witnesses and also tamper with the records. The court upon hearing arguements by both the parties at 3 PM this afternoon, is likely to pronounce its judgement by evening today.
