At last after creating a high tense drama at Gandhi Hospital, police have arrested MIM leader Akbaruddin, who was give 14 days judicial remand. He was shifted to Adilabad jail. MIM has given a bandh call for Adilabad and Nizamabad districts protesting his arrest. Akbaruddin’s lawyers have asked the court to shift him to Chanchalguda jail, since he is ill and need treatment.
However, MIM plans to gain some political mileage out of his arrest. It is planning to utilize the sympathy factor to promote itself to state level politics. MIM president Asadudeen Owaisi speaking to media said that his party is going to conduct number of public meetings in the next few weeks to make the minorities and SC, ST and BC people realize that it is the time to unite on one platform and claim their due share in the power. He blames the upper class communities for betraying the lower cast communities and the minorities in the state. He warned the Congress party that it can not expect the same results of the last time in the upcoming elections.
Therefore, MIM has made it clear that it has strategically broken its ties with Congress party and whatever it is doing now including the hue and cry of its MLA’s arrest, is also a part of its election strategy only.
