People may wonder what makes many political leaders of different parties keen to contest for Lok Sabha from Malkajgiri Constituency only.
There are several interesting reasons for it. This large constituency is forms with the seven Assembly segments of Medchal, Malkajgiri, Qutbullapur, Kukatpally, Uppal, LB Nagar and Secunderabad Cantonment areas. Malkajgiri is one of the biggest constituency in India that has 29, 53,915 electors, mostly hails from other regions of the state. The population here is a fine mix of Telangana people also. Many of them are from middle class families and educated population. Moreover, Telangana sentiment is secondary issue in this constituency because people living here just care for development activities only.
So, it makes the task easier and comfortable for politicians to talk on development and to shower poll promises for the same, whether they accomplish them or not. Political leaders strongly believe that it would be easier for them to convince these middle class urban people rather than risking with illiterate villagers in remote areas. That is why many of them consider Malkajgiri as safe place for betting on their luck.
Malkajgiri constituency is currently represented by Congress MP Sarve Satyanarayana, who is expected to be defeated this time. Politicians like A Revanth Reddy, Motkupalli Narasimhulu, Jayaprakash Narayan and many others have thrown their hats in Malkajgiri constituency.
