The Andhra Pradesh government has deployed heavy bandobust to counter the Left Parties' call for 'Chalo Assembly' on Wednesday. Around 11 Left inclined political parties, including CPI and CPI(M), have called for a rally 'Chalo Assembly' in protest of the prevailing power crisis in the state. The Left Parties allege that the government's inefficiency and lack of foresightedness is the root cause for the power crisis in the state.
Recalling the Basheerbagh incident, the Chalo Assembly organizers warned the government that the same incident may repeat again now as the situation in state at present is similar to the situation that led to Basheerbagh police firing that took place a decade ago. Apprehending eruption of violence during the rally, the state government has imposed severe traffic regulations on all 14 routes that lead to the State Secretariat. Heavy police force has also been deployed at all vulnerable places to contain any kind of eventuality.
