Kerala HC bans fireworks at night

In the backdrop of Kollam fire disaster, the Kerla High court has issued several orders to ensure a safe display of fireworks.
- The court has sought to ban the display of fireworks at all places of worship from sunrise to sunset.
- Court has expressed its anger over the display of fireworks at Kollam without a permission “How did fireworks happen without permission and why did the police allow the fireworks?” questioned the court.
- The bench has ordered the government to take action against the erring officials who let the display happen without the permission.
- The High court has also sought state government's opinion on a CBI probe into the Kollam temple tragedy.
- Kerala CM Oommen Chandy has called for an all party meeting on April 14 to discuss the issue of ban.
