Opposition parties including BJP have criticized TDP government for taking up Pattiseema Project. YSR Congress party president Jagan Mohan Reddy even conducted a two-day bus-yatra opposing Pattiseema Project. However, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who is firm with his decision, continued the project. Recently, 60 TMCs of Godavari water was released into Polavaram right canal that merges with Krishna River, as a part of trial of the project.
State BJP leaders have visited this project recently. Later speaking to media Visakhapatnam MP Kambampati Haribabu said, “Earlier, like many others in the state, I also criticized the AP government for taking up this project. But now I realized the importance and purpose of this project. I appreciate Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for his foresight. We will extend our full support to him for speedy completion of this project. We will do our part of job in completing Polavaram Project also.”
To be frank, Kambampati Haribabu is known to be a critic of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu from the very beginning. He criticized Chandrababu Naidu on some issues. But, this is first time that he is appreciating the Chief Minister, that too on a project for which Chandrababu Naidu has been criticized by the opposition parties. This is revealing that Chandrababu Naidu took a right decision and the project is going to serve its purpose of supplying drinking and irrigation water to Rayalaseema districts very soon.
