YSR Congress party president Jagan Mohan Reddy wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking his appointment during his visit to Amaravati on October 22nd. He appealed him to spare few minutes time to meet him either at Gannavaram airport or at Tirupati airport. In his letter, he appeals the Prime Minister that he, his MPs, MLAs and MLCs want to submit a memorandum to him seeking special status to the Andhra Pradesh state.
In his letter Jagan explained about his dharnas and hunger strikes conducted at New Delhi and Guntur recently. He complained that statement government foiled his hunger strike held at Guntur aimed to achieve special status for the state. He writes that his party will continue its agitations till special status is achieved.
Jagan Mohan Reddy is seeking appointment while stating that he will keep troubling the state and central governments with this special status issue. Hence, it is surprising to see him expecting Prime Minister’s appointment to him.
Modi is arriving to AP with a very tight schedule. He will reach Gannavaram around 11.50 am and returns to Delhi via Tirupati after having Lord Balaji darshan around 7 pm. In between, he may not be able to sit and chitchat with Jagan Mohan Reddy. Moreover, he can’t entertain Jagan Mohan Reddy when Chandrababu Naidu is around as it may send wrong message to him. Hence, Jagan may be asked to meet Prime Minister either before his visit to AP or after at New Delhi but certainly not at in the AP state.
