YSR Congress Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has filed his bail petition in the CBI Special Court on Tuesday. In his petition, filed through his lawyer, Jagan had said that as the president of YSRCP he needed to campaign for the candidates in the ensuing by-elections and prayed for bail. Maintaining that his arrest was improper, he has asked the court to give him bail to enable him to campaign for his party candidates.
Apart from bail plea, Jagan is also going to file a 'quash petition' in the High Court on Wednesday, contending that his arrest was improper and politically motivated. On the other hand, CBI also filing petition in the high court seeking Jagan's custody for further interrogation in the case. It is well known that the CBI court had yesterday rejected CBI plea seeking Jagan's custody. The High Court had permitted both Jagan and CBI to file their respective petitions tomorrow.
