N. Srinivasan, the high profile industrialist and chairman of the BCCI has appeared before the CBI here on Monday, in connections with the agency’s investigation into the assets of the YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
Srinivasan who is the chairman of India Cements and owner of the IPL Chennai Super Kings team was accompanied by some senior executives of his company when he went to the Dil Kusha Guest House, the makeshift office of the CBI.
The allegation against Srinivasan’s India Cements is that the company was given water allocations illegally from river Krishna and Gagna Rivers, in return for investments in Jagan’s companies.
CBI has already questioned the then Irrigation Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah and IAS officer Adityanath Das in the case. It is learnt that CBI sleuths are now questioning Srinivasan and his team members about the alleged quid pro quo investments.
CBI has also issued notices to the Managing Directors of Penna Cements and Dalmia Cements. The allegations against these companies are that they had invested in Jagan’s companies in return for allotment of lime stone mines to them. CBI is likely to question the then Revenue Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao in these cases.
