The Indian cricket team gave a fine performance in its first test in West Indies against the host which resulted them in winning the match by an innings and 92-run win over West Indies in Antigua Test. This is not only their biggest win outside Asia but also Anil Kumble's first as coach. Virat Kohli's maiden Test double hundred had a major role to play in India's 566 for 8, but the all-round star was Ashwin. He made 113 and stitched a 168-run stand with Kohli for the fifth wicket, before his bowling antics on the fourth day. All three of Ashwin’s Test centuries have come against West Indies, although this is the first time he has scored a ton away from home. In a stern warning for the brilliant performances which come against the host by the visiting side Virat Kohli said, "If we have a chance to win 4-0, then why not. We don't need to complacent.
If we end up getting a 2-0 lead, it's not that we are playing for a draw in thenext two Tests". "Everyone knew what we needed to do in the match (Anitigua Test), and we executed them as well, so you get good feedback from the management as a result, you feel good about your performance. You can't ask for anything better. You bat just once, and you bowl the opposition out twice." Talking about how Anil Kumble's first outing was as a coach, he said, "Having played for so long I think he (Kumble) understands how the players feel about a victory. He congratulated everyone and gave special mention to the guys who made important contributions in the game".
