IAS officer Ratna Prabha, who recently gave a jolt to Jagan Mohan Reddy at court premises, has filed a petition in High Court on Friday appealing to dismiss the case filed against her by CBI in connection with Indu Tech Zone charge sheet of Jagan Mohan Reddy illegal assets case.
In her petition, she stated that she has just proposed the project as instructed by the government and not committed any offense. She said the file has shuttled between several offices like law, revenue and finance ministries before it was finally approved by the state cabinet. She also mentioned several names including the then Principle secretary TK Diwan, Muthy, the Joint Director of IT etc., who also worked on this project file before sending for Cabinet approval. She argues that CBI can’t accuse her alone in this case, while leaving all others.
She said that she did not propose any concessions to the particular project nor she personally benefitted anyway. She said that there is difference between a corrupt officer and an officer, who strictly follows the government’s instructions. She said “I just followed the orders given by the government and didn’t act on my own as alleged by CBI.” Hence, she appealed the court to dismiss the case filed against her.
The court may take-up her petition on Monday. If, the court is convinced with her arguments and frees her from the case, then it will encourage other officers also to follow her. It is very painful to see sincere officers like her got trapped in the cases and wondering around the courts, while the prime accused, who was actually benefitted is foreseeing a bright future for himself.
