Take Action against defectors: HC

The High Court gives a shock to the TRS government that is in a festive mood for its victory in the MLC elections. The court responding to a petition seeking disqualification of 7 MLAs, who joined the TRS party but are still continuing as MLAs of TDP and the Congress parties, asked the Telangana AG why the speaker is not taking any action against them and how many days are needed to take action on them. The court asks the AG to submit the Speaker’s to its question within one week or else warned him that it will take appropriate action against them. Later, it posted the case to next Tuesday. However, Telangana government may recommend the Speaker to approve their resignations immediately as the purpose of continuing as MLAs was served with the election of its 5 MLCs. If so, it will necessitate bye-elections in the near future and TRS has to pass that acid test also.
