Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had to spend two hours at the airport upon his arrival in New York as US authorities subjected him to “random secondary immigration check”. "Thrice in three visits, the randomness is growing tiresome now," tweeted the former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, who is in the city to speak at an event.
The 46-year-old politician also referred to movie star Shah Rukh Khan, who had been vocal about his exasperation after being detained at the airport in Los Angeles earlier this year. Omar is in New York to speak at an event organised by the students New York University. The National Conference leader said, "I'm here to speak at an event organised by NYU but I almost wish I'd stayed at home instead... That's two hours well and truly wasted!!".
