Dawood Ibrahim to attend nephew's wedding

One of India's most wanted criminals, Dawood Ibrahim, will be a witness to his nephew's wedding to be held in Mumbai today. Though not in person, he will oversee the wedding festivities via Skype as the family celebrate the wedding of his nephew to the daughter of a Mumbai businessman. Alishah is the son of Dawood's deceased sister Haseena Parkar, who died two years ago and Ibrahim Parkar who was killed by the Arun Gawli gang in the late 1990s. According to sources, Dawood has directed his aides in Mumbai to keep an eye on the arrangements and monitor security measures. Sources also say that Mumbai police are keeping a close watch on the reception which has been organised in Tulip Star hotel in Juhu at 9 pm on Wednesday.

The nikah is supposed to take place in Nagpada. Dawood’s brother Iqbal Kaskar will also attend the wedding. According to reporters, Haseena's daughter got married last year but it was kept low-key as it was too close to Haseena's death. "But this time, the family wants it to be a gala event." “Police will keep a close watch on the proceedings as there is a possibility of rival gangsters trying to disturb the peace,” a senior police official said. Alishah’s elder brother Danish had died in a road accident in 2006, while his sister Umaira got married in May last year.
