Chiranjeevi, Renuka Choudhary Elected to Rajya Sabha

Megastar-turned-politician Chiranjeevi, former Union Minister Renuka Choudhary (both from ruling Congress) and former state Home Minister T Devender Goud of Telugu Desam Party were on Thursday declared elected unopposed to Rajya Sabha from Andhra Pradesh along with three others.
The election result was announced here after the deadline for withdrawal of nominations ended this afternoon. The three others elected to the Upper House of Parliament in the biennial election were former minister Palvai Govardhan Reddy and former journalist Rapolu Ananda Bhaskar of Congress; and industrialist C M Ramesh of TDP. Of the six seats from the state, Congress bagged four and TDP two.
