The senior Telugu Desam Party leader from Chittoor district Chintala Rama Chandra Reddy has joined Y.S.R.Congress party. He met Jagan Mohan Reddy in Chanchal Guda yesterday.
It is reported that Jagan had asked Chintala to plan for the defeat of the Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy in Pileru constituency in 2014 elections. But, it will not be an easy thing to defeat a serving chief minister that too in his own constituency. In the past, only N.T.Rama Rao was defeated in the way. No other serving chief minister had been defeated in the history of Andhra Pradesh so far.
Both the families of Kiran and Chintala have a long history of political rivalry in Chittoor district. Kiran’s father Amarnath Reddy and Ramachandra Reddy’ father Surendra Reddy were too rivals earlier and thus it was inherited to the present generation.
Ramachandra Reddy has the history of defeating Kiran Kumar Reddy once in the past. The Vayalpadu was the constituency for the political rivalry between the duo earlier. As the area was merged in Pileru constituency during the delimitation process at the time of 2009 elections, both Kiran and Chintala contested from there.
Chintala contested from Praja Rajyam party to be defeated in the hands of Kiran. Then he joined the Telugu Desam Party and with some decisions reportedly taken by the party leadership going against him, Chintala has opted to join the Jagan party now. We have to wait and see whether Chintala, with the support of Jagan, can defeat the present chief minister to repeat the history once more or not.
