Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu today dedicates Thotapalli Project to the Nation. He laid foundation stone for this project in Vizinagaram district exactly 12 years ago and inaugurates it today amid the presence of his ministers, MPs, MLAs and farmers came from surrounding villages.
The project was built with a cost of Rs.779 crores and provides water to nearly 1.20 lakhs acres in 17 Mandals in Vizinagaram and Srikakulam districts. Actually, this project is supposed to complete very long back, but delayed because the previous Congress government neglected it. Chandrababu Naidu, who listed out several small and big pending projects has been completing on priority basis. He named this project after late Sardar Goutu Lachchanna Project.
Speaking on this occasion, Chandrababu Naidu said “My government is planning to supply drinking and irrigation water to all districts by linking rivers in the state. We have linked Krishna and Godavari projects with Pattiseema Project with which we plan to supply water to Rayalaseema districts. My dream is to make the state free from the clutches of draught and unemployment. Hence, we are putting lot of efforts for it ever since we came into power. But, the opposition parties are creating hurdles in our development activities by politicizing every issue. I appeal the people of the state not to lend their ears to false stories being speared by opposition parties against our government.”
