Chandrababu Naidu soon after landing in India straight away walked into AP Bhavan at New Delhi to meet the deluge victims lodged there. Even while he was in US, he ordered the party to send a medical team to New Delhi to provide medical assistance to the Telugu people reaching there. However, the resident Commissioner Shashank Goyal has denied permission to the doctors to provide medical assistance to the stranded victims, stating that there is no necessity of any out side help because there is medical team in the Bhavan to take care of the victims.
When, Chandrababu reached there and saw the miserable condition of the Telugu people, he and his party MPs have staged a dharna along with them for two hours on yesterday. Shashank Goyal, who flees away from there just hours before his arrival on health grounds, has to return Bhavan and tender apology to Chandrababu for his absence.
Chandrababu gave a good scolding to him and his subordinate Suryanarayana for turning blind eye on the victims. He asked the RC to provide good food and let them use the vacant rooms until they are shifted to their home towns. Shashank Goyal has agreed to provide lodging and boarding to the Telugu people reaching there. Chandrababu has donated Rs.10,000 each to all the 74 tourists. Later, AP Bhavan officials also distributed Rs.2000 each to the victims to meet their expenses during their return to home.
