Kishore Chandra Dev from AP in New Central Cabinet

The long awaited central cabinet reshuffle at last took place today with eight new faces coming in and seven going out. Dr. Manmohan Singh made some major changes in his council of ministers in view of the political scenario in the country. There has been a major shake-up in the portfolios with Salman Khursheed taking over as Law Minister and ministry of Railways by Dinesh Tiwari, while new inductee Jayanthi Natarajan was entrusted with Environment Ministry.

Though a new face Kishore Chandra Deo from Andhra Pradesh made it in to the new cabinet as minister of tribal and panchayati raj affairs, A. Sai Prathap, also from AP, has been dropped. The 'big four' - Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna, Defence Minister A.K. Antony and Home Minister P. Chidambaram - have been left untouched in the exercise to draft a new Team Manmohan.
