Veteran Congress leaders and former Minister Mandali Buddha Prasad in the YSR cabinet and DCCB Chairman Pinnamaneni Venkateshwara Rao have left their long standing strong hold of the Congress Party and are joining the TDP.

In the Avanigadda constituency where Mr. M Buddha Prasad has been a Congress veteran and two time legislator, was forced to join after days of procrastination for the sake of his son Mr Venkataram's political career. This move was highly opposed by the sitting TDP MLA Mr Srihari Prasad and to curb that move he had brought in a Congress leader M Krishna Rao into the fray of Avanigadda politics.This has made it a hotbed for politcial rivalry as there are now two TDP people in the fray with Mr Naidu trying to appease both the sides and ease tensions.


The other Congress leader P Venkateshwara Rao and former education minister in the YSR cabinet whose family have been highly influential in the Krishna Delta regions for decades had decided to join the Telugu Desam party. These two moves will have  a seemingly high impact on the Krishna district politics and both are expected to join the TDP in the presence of TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu in Vijayawada today.
