CEO of Patanjali is 25th richest Indian

Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali's CEO Acharya Balkrishna, has officially become one of the richest Indian. According to the Hurun India Rich List 2016, 44 year old Acharya’s wealth amounted to a whopping Rs 25,600 crore (approximately $3.9 billion). Patanjali Ayurved, a fast growing FMCG whose net sales for the financial year 2015-16 stood at Rs 5,000 crore, is a household name now. Balkrishna holds as much as 94% of the company’s shares and does not take any salary.
Balkrishna Suvedi, popularly known as Acharya Balkrishna who is supposed to be a close aide of the yoga guru is the brain behind Patanjali’s success. But his billionaire status doesn’t come without controversies around his Indian citizenship and his education. His high school and Sanskrit degrees from Sampurna Nand Sanskrit University, allegedly do not exist on records.
Balakrishna who was born to Nepalese parents who later migrated to India. He heads 34 companies and three trusts associated with Ramdev and the Patanjali banner. Among other achievements, Patanjali interestingly claims the Acharya rediscovered the Sanjivani booti — the famed herb that rescued the life of Lakshman.
