Bye-elections for Avanigadda constituency in Krishna district will be held on August 21st. The elections are taking place due to death of TDP sitting MLA Brahmannaiah on April 21st. EC has announced the schedule for the elections on Friday. Notification will be issued on July 27th, the last date for filing nominations is August 3rd and Scrutiny on 5th and the last date for withdrawal of nominations is August 7th. So, hardly less than a month left for the bye-elections, TDP has declared his son Ambati Hari babu as party candidate.
Congress and YSRCP are also not keen to contest in the elections as there is just 10 mo0nths left for the general elections. So, they are said to be waiting for an appeal from TDP to let its candidate elect unanimously. If, TDP doesn’t want to give a chance to its rivals for raising this point in the general elections, then it may send Brahmannaiah family members to appeal Congress and YSR Congress parties not to stall its candidates.
