Suspense Continues Over Rajampet TDP Candidate

Suspense is still continuing over nomination of TDP official candidate for Rajampet constituency in Kadapa district. It is well known that by-elections are to be held in 17 seemandhra constituencies shortly. Though Telugu Desam Party, unlike in the past has announced its other nominees well in advance, it could not declare the Rajampet candidate.
The TDP sources in Rajampet say that one Mr. Bramhaiah is trying to get the party ticket, but he has not yet taken TDP membership. Whereas, the local leadership is of the view that, if former MLA Kasireddy Madan Mohan Reddy is given the ticket, he would definitely poll over 75000 votes. In that event, TDP win is certain with 15000 majority. But the sources inform that Kasireddy Madan Mohan Reddy is, for reasons not known, is reluctant to contest. He has not yet given his consent to the party. Even as his followers are putting pressure on him, he is not agreeing to contest. Generally bypolls are considered a boon for the 'politically unemployed' in any party. It is very odd that Madan Mohan Reddy is not grabbing the opportunity, when TDP is so keen to rope him in. Perhaps, he is too doubtful about his winning, say the sources.
